The exhibition at the Hamburger Kunsthalle is the first to present the complete holdings from the museum’s own collection, pieces created in the 1960s and 1970s that are regarded as key works. Gouaches, drawings, photographs, and films provide access to the conceptual dimension of the oeuvre. Franz Erhard Walther will make changes to the exhibition several times while it is on view in order to demonstrate the different states of the works he developed in the 1960s and 1970s. Walther will personally implement these alterations; the galleries will remain open to the public. A catalogue accompanying the exhibition will be published by Hatje Cantz.
